I never see any amber light flashing and no output on the console terminal. Touch the red multimeter lead to the other wires one at a time. Hi Carlitos, Unfortunatly I haven’t encountered your issue in the past. I spent almost 2 whole days trying to read information to get this working and its not working. I also tried on Windows 7. Hooked up the power and ground to the router. Can some one help me out here?

If czble have 4 lines to test, have to guess at RX and unused line. And you can use a USB hub if you want also, as long as its powered.

So when you touch the red multimeter to 1 wire, and the black multimeter to one of the Usb-uaet jack ends, you should see 0 Ohm or hear a Beep That means you have the same wire. If I try to update the drivers for such Arkmciro port and select Win7 drivers from Cypress installed folders then it does change the type of the port to USB serial port but still does not work.
Xable also tried on Windows 7. In my uneducated guess, I believe this means the colors listed above are correct.

If there is no signal, then you may be on the RX line. I tried the USB device viewer but neither it or windows seems to think there is a connection. Check for continuity with a multimeter between the end that you cut off and canle of the wires on the cut off piece. Black is the only wire to give a reading, and when i touch the red wire, and hold it to the positive lead my Win 7 PC actually recognized the cable.
To test the cable, you have to plug it into the USB port of the computer. Usb-uaft have Win 7 x Installed the driver and utility from the Serial Recovery Wiki.
Can some one help me out here? Really need help for my specific problem please. I know its been said you can find the ground by measuring the ohms with a multimeter set to OHM. Mon Cabld 13, That will tell you which each wire is for, and which is tx, rx, and ground.

Wrong unfortunately, the multimeter does NOT provide power.
