A friend suggested a video card driver upgrade, which did in fact resolve that problem. I went to the Display settings and disscovered that the x selection is no longer available??? I’m afraid I can’t remember where or how I manually downloaded it, but I’m sure it came from the AMD site and is correctly signed.

Celestia is single-threaded, so it’ll stress only one core at a time of modern multi-core CPUs, although that also lets i7s raise their clock speed to the maximum. I can able to boot into Safe Mode.

Apparently there are problems in some of their factory system images. Selden, any idea what are acceptable temperatures, and what are not? When I hc in Windows, all I could see was a memory. I have even tried WIndows Update unsuccessfully!

Once I begin seeing the problems say after a few days since rebootingthey will occur immediately upon launching Celestia. Just reporting back, in case it helps someone else. The Nvidia M chipset in my laptop typically gets up to over 70C, which supposedly isn’t a problem.

Although it’s still too soon to be sure, it’s quite possible that they have resolved the problems that I was experiencing while running Celestia. Which are used is explicitly specified in Nvidia’s control panel. A few months down the road, the But you said you could boot using VGA graphics and it’s an 0x code.
